Today I will tell you guys the concept & basic’s of WordPress. Because In The New Techtunes version some people says that they cannot create account, create post, etc. For those people I have brought a whole new chained Tune to learn WordPress.
After the tutorial you will able to know:
  • Concept of WordPress
  • Why chose WordPress
  • How it Works

What is WordPress?

Now you have came to know that Techtunes  has changed its System from Wapka to WordPress with their own Virtual Private Server(VPS). Now the question arose that what is WordPress? WordPress is web software you can use to create a beautiful website or blog. We like to say that WordPress is both free and priceless at the same time.Blog Tool, Publishing Platform, and CMS(Content Management System) with a lot of features.

So now you have known that WordPress is a Content Management System. And WordPress gives you two option to run this web software. And they are:
  1. Use in there own Cloud Server. WordPress.com
  2. Use in your own hosting server. WordPress.org
Now WordPress.com doesn’t allow you very features but WordPress.org does.

Why Chose WordPress?

well, WordPress powers the 23% of the internet. And its very popular nowadays. And WordPress allows you to chose custom themes and plugins . I will tell about the themes & plugins in another part of the post later. The main reasons to chose WordPress is here:
  1. Open Source Software: This basically means the software is free to download and use, this encourages innovation and creates a helpful community, willing to share it’s knowledge. Although as a novice you may want your developer to build your site, over time the help is there if you want it.
  2. Easy to Install: Good web hosting companies offer quick one click installation of wordpress and have optimised systems to work seamlessly with the platform.
  3. Great Themes : A theme provides the look of your website, there are many good free themes and  premium (paid) themes available to give your site the feel you want. A developer can also customise an existing theme or create a fully customised theme tailored for your exact requirements.
  4. Plugins: Plugins add additional features to your website, for example, if you want a fancy image a gallery there’ll be a selection of plugins available to you. If you are looking for any particular feature for your website there’ll probably be a selection of plugins available, many are free to use.
  5. S.E.O: SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) this is making your site search engine friendly and getting it to appear high up in the search engine results page. This area is constantly changing and be wary of companies who can promise miraculous results, however there  are still a number of simple things you can do with your wordpress site to assist it’s performance.Generally wordpress is very SEO friendly but there are also some excellent SEO plugins to fine tune your website.
  6. Simple CMS: CMS (Content Management System) this allows the user to publish and edit their content easily and quickly. You don’t need to be an experienced programmer to update your pages, if you are used to using Word then updating the content will be simple.
  7. Expandable and Adaptable: A wordpress business website can be as big as you want it to be, from a simple blog page to large website with a number of complex features including ecommerce. The website can grow and adapt as your business evolves.

How it works?

Its a PHP depended software. works with linux based OS like : CentOS, RedHat, etc.

So, After a long lecture I’m ending the first part of the site. 😀

My upcoming tunes will be: creating an Account on WordPress, Creating a post on WordPress, concepts about themes & plugins, WP in the marketplace.
